I am always open to answering questions, feel free to email me.

Next post will be about how to use Facebook for outreach. Also enjoy the new format that makes sure that new posts will be centered around ministry and instructions will be available on separate pages.

Simple Browser Security

For simple instructions on how to protect Facebook and Twitter, watch this great video by realtbox on YouTube

  • What this video does is tell you how to enable secure browsing on Facebook by going to Account settings -> Security -> Secure Browsing Edit -> Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) when possible
  • On Twitter go to Settings -> Https Only and check the Always use HTTPS box

In addition there are settings on each browser to that allow you to see when you
are on a secure connection. Basically always look for the https://.

  • Firefox Check for the "lock" icon on the status bar that shows that you are on a secured web site. Also check that the URL begins with "https" in the location bar when making transactions online.
  • Chrome will show you a warning when you go to a known site that is suspected of nefarious activities. It also displays the "lock" icon and the green https://.
  • Safari is also them same with the https:// notation.
Study your browser's security options and tips at their respective websites:

They also all have options for private browsing, this won't keep out attacks on your computer but will hide your personal information stored on your browser.

  • In Firefox turn on Private browsing by hitting <Ctrl-Shift-P> or going to Tools-> Start Private Browsing -> Start Private Browsing
  • In Chrome use the Incognito window. Either hit <Ctrl-Shift-N> or click on the Wrench in the upper right hand corner -> New Incognito window
  • In Safari click Safari -> Start Private Browsing -> Ok
